ALCOHOL & DRUG COUNSELOR – Part Time: Performs duties in the counseling and treatment of adolescents with problems related to substance use. The counselor will be school-based with limited supervision. A successful candidate for this position is one with experience doing assessments, education and case management.
* Master’s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
* At least two years direct counseling experience with one in addiction
* Must acquire and maintain required certification/licensure from the State of South Carolina within 3 years of hire date
* Licensed social worker, addiction or professional counselor preferred
* Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
* DSM 5 knowledge ASAM-PPC3 required
This is a grant funded position and employment is contingent on funding.

Director of Alternative Services -Clinical Counselor

Responsibilities: Full-time position for Director of Alternative Services/Clinical Counselor. Duties include but are not limited to: provide orientation, intake, assessment, crisis management, case management, individualized treatment plans, clinical placement of clients, and counseling. Coordinate, manage, and supervise all Alternative Services client programs, including ADSAP, Pre-Trial Intervention, Probation and Parole, and Court Program, and clinical services to clients referred from external and internal referral sources. Provide clinical supervision of staff, to include monitoring of client files to ensure timely and proper documentation. Set procedures and hold staff accountable for following procedures. Supervise all clinical counselors who are part of the Alternative Services Department, along with the IT Coordinator, and the Receptionist/Administrative Assistant.
Develop with the Executive Director the Annual Budget and Strategic Plan. Ensure contract objectives with state agency (DAODAS) are met. Ensure CARF, DHEC, and safety requirements are met.
Develop, manage, and supervise the creation of monthly, quarterly, and special reports as needed. Maintain good working relationships with referral sources. May need to work some evenings.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, computer skills in Microsoft Office programs and EHR systems. Knowledge of judicial system and referral sources as it relates to the job.
Master’s degree in the human services field from an accredited college/university. LMSW and/or LPC required. Must be able to clearly articulate a best practice treatment philosophy as well as a clear understanding of the psychosocial assessment process. Must be certified as Addictions Counselor by SCAADAC within three years of hire date. Prefer a minimum of 3 years experience in clinical counseling to include group counseling. Prefer a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
